Tesla’s entry is expected to have a major impact on India’s electric vehicle ecosystem. It goes without saying that Menon’s Tesla experience would benefit Tesla because he already knows the ropes thanks to his previous experience. Prashanth R. Menon previously worked for Tesla in the United States as Director Advisory of Cost, Process, and Regulatory Measures. Menon also has previous experience with Elon Musk (prior to Tesla), since they both attended the prestigious Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania.

Tesla had appointed a group of executives to oversee the company’s entry into India earlier in 2021. Tesla has appointed Vaibhav Taneja, David Feinstein, and Venkatrangam Sreeram as the three employees in charge of the company’s Indian operations. Needless to say, Tesla has increased its efforts to establish a company in India and has made sufficient progress in 2021 to get things up and running.

More information is expected to be released soon as Tesla continues to assemble a team of company employees and industry veterans to manage its India operations.

Meanwhile, Tesla is planning to start production at its Giga Texas and Giga Berlin sites by the end of 2021. Musk has stated that although limited production will begin in both factories in 2021, full production is expected in 2022.
